Magyar Posta’s up-to-date basic data service

Partner Extra is a public data service available to everyone which contains the most up-to-date details of post offices, Postal Points (MOL and Coop) and Parcel Terminals.

The databases provide accurate and authentic information concerning opening hours, address details and other additional information. The purpose of the Partner Extra service is to provide data for Magyar Posta’s customers in the widest range possible for addressing mail items for delivery to the door (postcodes for towns, street types, non-working days, area codes and formats, etc.).

Only parcel pick-up is possible at the Postal Points (MOL and Coop), and other postal services are not available.

WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF THE PARTNER EXTRA SERVICE?

AUTHENTIC: The most authentic information about Magyar Posta’s over 3,000 delivery points nationwide (name, opening hours, GPS coordinates, etc.)
UP-TO-DATE: The databases are up-to-date and all changes are entered immediately (post office closures, changes in opening hours, etc.)
EASY-TO-USE: The data can be downloaded and used as the background database of your own applications (webshop, company management system, etc.). The data are published in a format that is easy to use for everyone (*.xml).
ADAPTABLE: Individual requests can be catered for.

CUSTOMER FRIENDLY ARRANGEMENT

The database has been compiled to ensure that every user finds the relevant information in a separate file (e.g. the sender who only posts to Postal Points can find the details of MOL and Coop Points and post offices in a separate file; while someone who prefers to send items to be delivered to the door will find help in the address support files.)

Which should I use – Postal Point API or the xml files?

The Postal Point API is an application showing Postal Points on a map which can be incorporated into a web page. The advantage of using the API is that web stores can make pick-up points simply and quickly accessible with only minor development. On the other hand, web stores have no direct influence over the API’s operation as the source code applied cannot be changed, only executed. Thus there is no option for the web stores to use an individual appearance. This is a convenient solution for web stores which do not wish to create their own applet or display environment on their web page.

The xml files contain a considerable amount of information about each post office, postal partners and Parcel Terminals, just as the Postal Point API does, but the data in them can be tailored as desired by reference to the individual elements of the xml file in the web page’s source code. Using the data you can create an individual visual environment on your web page or develop your own applet for your web page.
